Built over two levels with three bathrooms, three double bed rooms (one with 2 king singles) upstairs and a dormitory/rumpus room downstairs having 2 singles, 2 trundles and a double divan, the house can sleep 12. The house can be enjoyed for a romantic get away for two or for larger groups of say two families. The main bedroom beside the kitchen has a double spa with magnificent ocean views north to Caloundra and down the main shipping lanes into the port of Brisbane.
| The house also has a large deck area for taking the amazing scenery north over the ocean and bay or west to the famous Glass House Mountains named by Captain Cook. At sunset Moreton Island is one of the few places on the east coast of Australia where the setting sun can be observed over great expanses of water. |
Access to the Island is by resort water transport in which case there is a bus available for transport up to the house or the fabulous Mi Cat a 55 metre vehicle barge which leaves from the Port of Brisbane and delivers vehicles to the beach of Moreton Island. For driving on the island a four wheel drive vehicle is essential as there are no made roads and with the exception of a few sand roads to provide for access around the villages or directly across the island the beach is the only road. |

Of course vehicles are not necessary to take advantage of this wonderful holiday destination as the resort provides dessert trips for tobogganing on sand dunes, whale watching (by boat or bus) in season, dugong and turtle viewing, boat and water craft hire and four wheel drive vehicle rental and the resort is an easy walk down the hill from the house of no more than 200 or so metres. |

Who we are at Tangalooma Hilltop House.
We are Richard and Kathleen Lilley from Warwick and Murwillumbah respectively in Australia and we now live in Brisbane Queensland. We have had a Moreton Bay Island property since in about 1998 with our first being on North Stradbroke Island and which was traded in so that we could build the Tangalooma Hilltop House in 2004. We chose the site for its uninterrupted water views and magnificent sunsets and we hope you too will enjoy the great pleasure this property gives us.
